A similar conception using your concept but more btb. The strong end, when opened makes a worm hole. As you said it is a portable hole. If the weak end is folded up, it become a portable hole. If you want to get back you have to put it where you came in. But if someone uses te well on the other side, the whole on weak end disappears/teleports back to its original location. Explains what happens on the other side (and gives a limited way to close it, at least to beings on the none prime side) but does not interfere what so ever in its use on the prime.
Also could explain portable holes in general, who where the result of a well of the worlds use from another alternate prime.
